The revolution of 1848\/49 was the first Europe-wide movement for freedom, democracy and social justice. In order to increase the visibility of this important anniversary in the history of democracy, a jubilee network is being established that brings together the diverse regional, national, but also European activities and potentials of actors, institutions and places of remembrance in the history of democracy.

\nThe topic of how to commemorate this incisive event was the subject of the kick-off event Jubil\u00e4umsnetzwerk 1848\/49 held in Rastatt on 4 and 5 November 2021.
