Jahn multi-disciplines for fencers

After a Corona-related cancellation in 2020, they took place under Corona conditions on 27 and 28 August 2021 in Freyburg. It was the 55th edition since 1955. The competition, which is based on the Friesian fights, involves points in air rifle shooting, three athletic disciplines, fencing and swimming. In addition, wreaths were traditionally laid at the Friedrich Ludwig Jahn Memorial Gymnasium and at the memorial stone for the founder of these competitions, Albert Gipp. The organizers around Werner Lauer and Steffen Fellmann of the organizer Fechtclub Leipzig e. V. did an extraordinary job under the given conditions as well as the 66 competitors aged 11 to 81 years from 22 clubs of the Federal Republic. As a great supporter of the event, Freyburg's mayor Udo Mänicke honoured the winners at the closing ceremony.
